TOP 100 Bay Area Restaurants
"While this restaurant may be below the radar of
many tourists who crowd into Napa Valley, it's a top destination
for locals. Donna and Giovanni Scala not only know how to
treat customers, they also know the food people like to
eat. You'll find some of the best pasta in the Bay Area
here. The couple are always redesigning the menu and improving
interior. There's a wonderful herb garden and a fountain
overlooking a sea of vineyards, an outdoor deck with fireplace,
and a cozy interior with another fireplace and a partly
open kitchen behind glass to keep the noise down.

KVYN/KVON Best of Napa & Sonoma
Valley announced Bistro Don Giovanni as the "Best
Italian Food Restaurant" in Napa
The Atlanta Journal-Constutior, June
11, 2000
" There are many Italian and Italian-inspired
restaurants around, but Bistro Don Giovanni remains my favorite.
Maybe it's because Donna Scala is really a southern girl
who married an Italian man (Giovanni); this restaurant is
the perfect marriage of those two cultures. This woman can
cook, and having traveled and learned the regional dishes
of Italy with Giovanni, she prepares them with authenticity
and punch. And Georgia-born Howard Lane [the Matre'D]
dishes up pure Southern hospitality at the front door. " |
